Photography is one
of the pure joys in my life. Although I have a passion for it,
it falls far behind the simple joy I experience daily through my
personal relationship with my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Next
comes my wife and children and somewhere back in the pack of
priorities is photography.
I enjoy taking
pictures of just about anything or anyone, whether in color or
black and white. I have spent a winter weekend in Yosemite and a
night in the rain in San Francisco taking pictures. A simple
drive through the country or a trip to the railroad yard may
provide some amazing pictures.
As I have taken
more pictures I have become more comfortable with the concept of
seeing art in everyday things. Some of the things I have
captured are quite funny and others are just plain odd. In
reality the overwhelming majority of pictures I have taken are
rubbish. I am so thankful that I switched to digital a couple of
years ago because I was spending a fortune developing film!
Since this is
just a hobby for me I have a really hard time justifying huge
expenses on camera equipment. My first real investment was a
good camera body and a pair of decent lenses as well as a really
good tripod. I shoot with a Canon Digital Rebel. I hope to add a
better Canon Digital SLR later this year as well as some really
good Canon lenses.
